If you run a small training institute or coaching class, you may not want to pay for software before you know it works. A free app is a sensible way to start, as long as it is genuinely usable and not a demo in disguise.
What a useful free plan should include
- Student records and admissions, not just a contact list.
- Fee tracking with receipts and a dues list.
- Attendance by batch.
- A mobile app so staff can work from a phone, on Android and iPhone.
- No expiry. A free trial that ends in 14 days is not a free plan.
What to check before committing
- The limits. How many staff logins and how many students or admissions per month? Free plans always have limits. Make sure yours fit your size.
- Your data. Can you export it? You should never be locked in.
- The upgrade path. If you grow, can you move to a paid plan without re-entering everything?
- Language and dates. If you work in Nepal, check for Nepali and Bikram Sambat support.
- Pay-per-use extras. SMS and similar services usually cost extra. Prefer pay for what you use, not a fixed bill.
